| 22 pages of colored art and text... the art truly captures the essence of the poem each art piece illustrates... The art illustrations are superb, by an exceptional artist Barafundi (aka Karl McIntosh). Karl first gained recognition in the seventies with his superb depiction of several characters from the Alex Haley's Roots Series. And Haley, being truly impressed, bought the originals.
The book is of polish hardcover, really looks good, almost every poem is artistically laid out on each page for an awesome visual effect and because the poems are so well constructed visually intermingle with beautiful collages and fine art original water colored, illustrations, the book doesn't become visually monotonous or boring. Utilizing a variety of fonts and font sizes, not only does the book look good, the book Wake Up World feels good, printed on 90lbs high gloss paper... a nice addition to most libraries.
As awesome as the art work and layout is... as great as Wake Up World looks and feels, still, it's best, foremost outstanding quality is what it has to say and how well the book says it and believe me the book Wake Up World has a lot to say and truly says it well. So often one hears about something being exceptional that now the phrase is experiencing cliche status. But on this project the statement truly applies, the total package is awesome.
